Undergraduate Classes Taught
International Relations (UTM Fall 2025)
This course introduces students to the core principles, theories, and debates in the field of International Relations (IR). We explore how power works across borders, through diplomacy, foreign policy, international organizations, trade, and conflict, and how global events shape the political, social, and economic dynamics between states and non-state actors alike. Throughout the semester, we use current events and historical examples to make sense of enduring questions in IR: Why do wars happen? How do international institutions promote cooperation? What role do human rights and global corporations play in shaping the world order? This course serves as a foundation for further study in Political Science and will give you the tools to think critically about the complex problems facing our global community.
Introduction to World Politics (UTM Fall 2025)
This course offers an introductory survey of the leading theories and concepts in international relations, helping students understand the dynamics of world politics. We examine both domestic and international drivers of global affairs, with particular focus on democratization, economic development, conflict, and cooperation.
The Politics of Gender and Sexuality (IU Fall 2021)
This course covered important topics in the study of gender, sexuality, and politics. Issues examined included the election of women and LGBT+ candidates to office, legislative efforts on behalf of women and sexual minorities, women's and gay rights' movements, the politics of intersectional identities, and the political consequences of gender and sexuality dynamics in conflict and post-conflict settings.
International Political Controversies (IU Summer 2021)
This course introduced studies to enduring and contemporary political controversies in international and comparative politics, including vaccines and healthcare, abortion, forms of democracy, climate change, gay rights, freedom of speech, and social media.
